  • Visit Al Quaraouiyine Mosque

Al Karaouiyine or Quaraouiyine is a famous mosque built by Fatima al Fihriyya in 859 AD, it’s also the oldest still-functioning university in the world. The mosque is a spectacular example of the fascinating Arab Architecture. The University has also a large library that was renovated and made open to the public.

  •  Explore The Mederasa Bou Inania

Built in the 14th century by Sultan Abu Inan, The Bou Inania is a theological school, that has been restored and featured by the most amazing architecture and history. The exotic courtyard has a beautiful centered fountain showing the mastership of Moroccan craftsmen.

  • Discover The Dar Batha

Dar Batha is a former palace that turned into a museum in 1915, it reflects a wonderful set of traditional artifacts, with an Andalusian style garden with different plants and Moroccan-style fountains.

Inside the Museum, you would get stunned by the remarkable woodcarvings, Moroccan tiles, and carpets, a ceramic collection from the 14th century.

  • Take in The Smells of Chouara Tannery

  The world’s oldest tanneries, Chouara is a massive tannery, surrounded by houses and shops, as where real leather is being naturally shaped and colored. The smell in the tannery is quite strong so you would probably need to bring a scarf to cover your nose or a small piece of mint.

  • Have a picnic at The Merenid Tombs during Sunset

     These dramatic tombs remain of the Merenid Dynasty, though most of decorations and engravings have faded throughout the years; the authenticity of the architecture is still present. The Tombs provide the most magical panoramic view of the old Medina.

  • Check The Moroccan treasures in Borj Nord Arms Museum

    The authentic Museum was built in the 16th century by Sultan Ahmad al Mansur to monitor his population. Borj Nord (Northern Tower) is an arms museum that represents the development of weapons throughout the years. You will get to find a great collection of rare pieces, having a glimpse on the military history.

  • Visit Morocco’s oldest Jewish Quarter “EL Mellah”

     The Mellah is a Jewish quarter in the 14th century, showing the history and the architecture style of the Jewish culture. El Mellah it is located north of the royal palace, and all lined with antique shops and jewelry boutiques.
